BALANCE

bal·ance

ˈbaləns/
noun
1. an even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady.

Balance comes in many shapes and sizes in this day and age. We need balance in our relationships, in our businesses, in our careers, in our training, in our nutrition.....etc.

I recently took a one week vacation. My main goal during this week; to unplug from my everyday life as I know it today. Not because I'm unhappy with my life, but to take a break, to rest, to recharge, to spend time just living, meeting new people, having new conversations, enjoying life without an alarm, without the daily hustle, not working on my laptop, not answering emails or calls, not looking at my cell phone (WTH! Is that even possible today?!).

I am BEYOND grateful for everything and everyone I have in my life. But, that doesn't mean that time away from it all isn't a good thing. It's actually a great reminder of how much I appreciate everything I have been blessed with.

I have to admit, I had to literally lock my phone and laptop in the safe each day so that I wouldn't be tempted to scroll through social media or check emails. I must say, it worked wonderfully ;) and it felt AMAZING (to say the least) to live life "unplugged" for a week.

The power of "unplugging" from life is HUGE. It's something that allows you to completely clear your mind and live in the "now". To let your body and mind recharge, clear out the garbage and take in some fresh new perspectives.

If you don't "unplug" in your life, I'd highly suggest trying it out. Even if it's just for 30-60min one day per week. Unplug from your cell phone and go on a hike, or walk on the beach, get out in nature, in the sunshine, and be one with world WITHOUT electronics.

The more you start to do this, the more value you will begin to feel from it.

Don't forget to stop and smell the roses along the way folks! And don't forget to be grateful for the things that you DO have in your life, and don't put too much focus on the things you DON'T have. I can GUARANTEE, someone, somewhere, is WISHING their best day could look like your worst day.

Enjoy your hump day friends!!
