In a little over 4 months time, The 2017 Reebok CrossFit OPEN will be upon us! (It seems CRAZY to think that it's this close already!)

For most of the C5 Community who has been with us longer than a year, you understand what a significant time of year The OPEN is for our community.

 

Whether you have desires to place high in our Region as a competitive Fitness athlete in this Sport, to place high within our community (or amongst friends), or just to push yourself outside of your comfort zone in a friendly, in-house, online competition, chances are that you want to perform well!

The ability to perform well has a LONG list of factors that determine your success.

One of them is "preparedness".

Here at C5, our program is designed for your overall balanced fitness, longevity, and safety. On the flip side of that coin, we also like to prepare everyone (the best we can), for The OPEN.

If you want to perform your best during The 2017 OPEN, you need to get consistent in the gym starting yesterday!

There are NO SHORTCUTS to performing well. You need to learn to breathe properly, you need to learn to move efficiently, you need to build up volume through progressive reps (which our program offers all year long)....etc., and it all needs to be done in a consistent fashion, week in and week out from now until The OPEN arrives. Consistent means that you are focusing on your Fitness a minimum of 4-5 days per week. 

By showing up to class on a consistent basis, you will be able to achieve a level of Fitness that will allow you to perform at your best when this 5 week competition shows up at the end of February/beginning of March. 

DO NOT fool yourself into thinking that you can start focusing on your weaknesses in Janurary and be ready to Crush The OPEN in March. Sorry to burst your bubble, but that is NOT reality.

Over 60% of our community signs up to compete in The OPEN each year, while 100% of you participate to some level as The OPEN workouts are part of our program design for the 5 week competition every Friday.

What does this mean? 

It means that whether you sign up to compete in it or not, by showing up on a Friday at any class, you will be participating in the workout anyway and experiencing what is called; "The Energy of The OPEN".

This is an early bird wake up call for those of you who want to perform well when The 2017 OPEN arrives! 

If you have specific weaknesses you want to get better at BEFORE The OPEN is here, get with a C5 Coach ASAP to get some skill sessions scheduled. 

We will be retesting some of The 2016 OPEN workouts during the month of November so YOU can see where sit relative to last year and experience the type of TESTS that will be coming your way in 2017!
