GIVE THANKS TO YOUR BODY

Have you ever stopped and truly thought about just how much your body does for you? Think about that for a moment. Take a deep breath and really visualize how much your body does for you. It allows you to work long hours, train hard physically, deal with crazy amounts of stress, be emotionally present for your friends and family, etc. 

Your body does ALL that hard work happily, healthfully and intelligently all so YOU can meet your goals and live a wonderful life. So why is it that we struggle, feel guilty or forget to thank our body? Why don't we feel more obligated to show respect, appreciation and gratitude for our body?

For many it's because it is much easier to focus on the shortcomings of your body. Perhaps you don't physically look as you'd like, maybe you struggle with nutrition or feel you have a lack of athletic ability. Nonetheless, we allow what we dislike to diminish all the goodness our body blesses us with. So, the next time you feel upset with something pertaining to your mind, body or soul, I challenge you to find the positives and THANK your body instead! How you thank your body is solely dependent on what feels right for you. Personally, I thank my body on a daily basis by feeding it the best nutrients it deserves. I thank and reward my body with proper recovery. But most importantly I thank my body by LISTENING to what it's telling me. I don't choose to follow any fad diet or workout regime because it's what's everyone else is doing. I do what's right for my body by listening to my own needs.

Communication, listening and honoring your body is the most important part of being healthy. If it wasn't for our body's physical and mental performance, life would be empty. I challenge each of you to check in with your body. Learn to listen, honor and communicate with the demands of YOUR body. I promise the rewards are AMAZING!
