Sustainability and Kettlebell Swings

Today's Coaches Tip is brought to you by Coach Nickole:

Today we will be doing more sustainability work similar to last Monday and Wednesday.  Today is all about moving steadily and efficiently through the movements and remembering to breathe!  Speaking of moving efficiently ... here are some tips to remember when performing the Russian kettlebell swing.  There are many different ways to execute this movement.  Here at C5 we like you to focus on having explosive hips and soft, relaxed arms as the kettlebell moves upwards to your eye level while keeping a neutral head and keeping your shoulder blades down and back.  Friendly reminder is to not actively pull the kettlebell in towards your body.  This video does a great job breaking down the shoulder/arm position during the swing.  Have fun with this sustainability piece!
