Mental Preparation: Your Mind Matters
Whether it’s a competition, a big job interview, a test or exam, an important presentation at work, speaking in front of people for the first time…anything and everything includes a component of mental preparation.
It can’t, shouldn’t and doesn’t begin the week of or night before the big event. It starts months, weeks and days ahead of time.
The cliché “the power of positive thinking,” may be a saying, but it is FACT, it is TRUE and it works 100% of the time.
It starts with a few easy steps and just seconds or minutes at a time.
Just before going to sleep each night as you lay your head on the pillow, think about what you are preparing for. Picture yourself succeeding, winning the competition, impressing the bosses, passing the exam, keeping the audience riveted, and see yourself at your extreme best in that moment. You’ll fall asleep thinking about it, and really try to stay in the positive with your new mindset. Do this as many nights as you can before the event. It’s never too late. So, start now, today…tonight!
This practice only takes a few seconds or minutes, but it will make a HUGE difference in whatever you need confidence for in your life. In fact, you can use it for your everyday tasks, workouts, assignments, presentations, anything where you need to stay positive and you’re looking to succeed, win or improve from the last time.
Where your mindset sits during that moment is equally as important as your other preparations. Make you mind right, ahead of time. Train it, create the habit, put it into your daily schedule, keep it at the top of the list with your exercise routine, the food choices you make and how much sleep you plan for yourself each night.
The mental component MATTERS! Prove it to yourself and start right now!!!
