Present & Complete to Compete
Who holds you up?
Your competitive soul twin?
When you compete, do you have a Coach or teammate that really keeps your grounded and present in the moment during the event or competition?
Even during individual competitions all athletes have a support system, or a team of people helping the cause.
Tiger Woods, one of the best golfers of our lifetime is alone on the course when he swings his club. But, his caddy is always close by, his swing coach, his trainer, his physical therapist, masseuse and nutritionist.
Serena Williams spends most of her time alone on the tennis court, but she couldn’t compete at the highest level without her team of support staff.
It would be nearly impossible for Camille Leblanc to compete at the top of her game in CrossFit without her team of coaches.
In a CrossFit competition, when you approach the barbell, the rings or a jump rope you are alone at that moment, but just look around you, you are never truly ALONE. You will be challenged mentally to stay motivated, positive, and strong, fierce, really! That is all on you. But, in the moment of the lift, jump, swing, or hang…look around you again, you are NOT alone. You have a team, to coach you, encourage you, motivate you, support you, root for you, to cheer you on and to celebrate your moment, your strength and your accomplishments.
Now, evaluate your team, who is on it? What roles do these folks play? Do they know what they do for you? Should you request anything from them or just receive the support with your arms open wide and your head held high.
It’s such a rewarding thing to have a team. But, sometimes, it’s even better to be on someone’s team. Build yours and then offer to be on someone else’s.
