Welcome to C5!

In order to ensure your safety, longevity, and success, in the C5 Fitness program (or any Fitness program for that matter), we must obtain a clear starting point. A starting point cannot be properly determined without a Fitness Assessment. If you've never had your Fitness properly assessed, chances are you've been missing out on several KEY FACTORS that will support your success in Fitness.

Your first month at C5 will consist of;

A Basic Fitness Assessment (BFA) is mandatory for anyone who wishes train within our walls and follow the C5 Fitness program via group classes so we (and you) can determine (and help you understand) which C5 program you should follow. A BFA consists of;

  1. Initial Consultation
  2. Movement Analysis will identify imbalances from right to left and/or limitations in your range of motion to assist in injury prevention and overall health. It will clarify, and help you understand, the difference between 'stability' and 'mobility' and where each is needed, for you, the individual.

You will then have 30 days, from your first visit at C5, to attend one of our scheduled, 90min ON RAMP courses that take place two times per month. This course will provide you with the philosophies and expectations of C5, as well as break down fundamental movement mechanics that will be required for your safe success in our Fitness Program.

*You will be allowed to attend our group Fitness classes during your first, ON RAMP month at C5 with the understanding that our knowledgable Staff will guide you into the appropriate program each day based upon your movement mechanics until your BFA results & ON RAMP  have been completed and reviewed.

Not seeking group Fitness?

C5 offers more than just group Fitness classes, we also specialize in Individual Design (ID) programs which you can read more about by clicking here

A Comprehensive Fitness Assessment (CFA) will take things one step further in preparation for an ID program and look deeper into four key areas;

  1. Initial Consultation
  2. Body Composition & Fat Distribution testing will note your current physical state so you can measure changes over time based on changes to your nutrition and training routine.
  3. Movement Analysis will identify imbalances from right to left and/or limitations in your range of motion to assist in injury prevention and overall health. It will clarify, and help you understand, the difference between 'stability' and 'mobility' and where each is needed, for you, the individual.
  4. Strength Assessment will measure current strength in six areas including (but not limited to); upper body pushing, upper body pulling, bending, squatting (single and double leg), and core.
  5. Work Capacity Testing is designed to assess your overall ability to "get work done", utilizing various energy systems and time domains, based upon your personal goals and current level of Fitness.

Why do I need a Fitness Assessment?

There are several reasons why a BFA is mandatory here at C5, some (but not all) of those reasons are listed below;

  1. To educate you, and us, on your individual strengths, weaknesses, and limitations (if any).
  2. You (and us) will have a better understanding on what your priorities should be relative to your Fitness goals.
  3. You will have a clear understanding on which of the 3 group Fitness programs you should be following and the "why" behind the decision based upon your BFA results.
  4.  You will gain a clear understanding on the fundamentals, concepts, and expectations of our program(s), which reduces injury and helps your overall Fitness success in the long term.
  5. Without proper assessment, you would be following a random program that may, or may not, be the best option for your individual needs and goals. This happens WAY TOO MUCH in the Fitness Industry, and here at C5, we strive to make a difference.

We want you to understand that we are passionate about our Fitness program and it's abilities in making you better at LIFE, not just CrossFit! We train our members for longevity, no one EVER got fit overnight. It is a process that takes time (months for some, years for others). We need you to understand the basic principles of body mechanics, body awareness, and that gradual progression over time in the program is what delivers the results safely!
