The thought that in my profession if I give up during a fight it may result in death. I have had incidents where I wanted to quit but knew the result could be bad. So I think of those encounters when I start feeling like quitting and that makes me push my body beyond fatigue. Definitely a mind over body ability.

Some of my mottos. Train as you fight. Train more in peace, bleed less in war.

I think about any upcoming derby bouts, and their players... and I imagine I'm tired and it's down to the wire and I've got to skate as hard as I can..... and I imagine taking out their players and laying them flat!!!

Sweet (or in this case, Sweaty) success! I hate failure. Thanks to ALL the C5 trainers who push me over and beyond what I thought I could do!

I really try to keep my mind in the moment... not let it wander to "what am I going to do on the weekend" or "that problem I'm having at work". Crossfit has been a great tool in myself realizing what my body is capable of if I put my mind to it, and how I don't have to accept my own preconceived physical limits. Good days are when I can't hear any of the noise in the box... only my mind repeating "keep going, don't stop".
