Sometimes, in the comfort of us enjoying our Country's freedoms and beauty, we may forget the events of September 11, 2001. Let us not forget. This Saturday's WOD is to commemorate, in our own C5 way, our remembrance of all those that perished and sacrificed on that day. The WOD will also serve as a reminder of our resolve as a Country to prevent another tragedy such as 9-11, and honor those brave men and women that continue to work for our freedom and safety. Where were you on September 11, 2001?

Absolutely...we will never forget. I was getting ready for work when my now ex-husband said...."Rocio, you need to come see this". There was such a somber tone to his voice. We watched in confusion and disbelief. All I could think of was..."oh God....we're being attacked...life as we know it has changed forever..."
Hey guys....any ideas on how "not" to slip while doing pull-ups now that we aren't using chalk? I'm really having a hard time. Should I get some tape.....sticky tape...super glue.....????
Rooociiiiooooo
I was on the L (elevated train) to downtown Chicago for school and there was all this commotion and I heard something about an attack but didn't get the whole story. I remember all the cell phones were down and people were trying to call out. When I arrived at class the professor informed us of what had happened and that we had to evacuate the building because we were right across the street from the Federal Building. I was in shock and disbelief for the next few days.
I remember I was getting ready for school (high school lol) and seeing the URGENT NEWS report on tv at 6:30 in the morning. My parents and I were just in shock. Everyone at school was just silent most of the day.
yeah Bear.....there was certainly a deafening silence everywhere.
Still Crystal clear. I was overseas, in a bank, watching foreign news channel. There was a live feed on the tower where the first plane hit. I saw the second plane hit live, and simultaneously the news flashed to Flight 77 and the Pentagon. The cell phone went off, my commander was on the phone, my soldiers called in, geared up, and began operations. The entire culture and face of the military I knew, the mission, and focus, shifted in an instant.
